Masseter Botox

Jaw shape and tension, assessed together

A broad jaw and a tense jaw do not always have the same cause. The masseter contributes to chewing and lower-face contour; Botox, Dysport or Xeomin may reduce its activity when treatment is suitable. The consultation starts by examining that muscle and discussing what you notice.

Jawline slimming

When enlarged muscle contributes to width, reducing its activity may gradually change the lower-face outline. Treatment does not change the underlying jawbone.

Clenching and grinding

Discuss jaw fatigue, morning discomfort and any dental assessment you have had. Muscle treatment may help selected concerns, but clenching and jaw pain can require care beyond injections.

The whole jaw, considered

Muscles work together when you bite. Dr. Alex, DNP, examines the masseter on each side and considers whether activity at the temples is relevant to the assessment.

How it works

  1. Consultation

Your history, jaw movement and muscle activity are reviewed before a recommendation. The discussion includes what treatment might change, its risks, alternatives and the planned cost.

  2. Treatment

If you proceed, the dose and placement are chosen for each side. The injection stage is one part of the visit, alongside assessment and aftercare guidance.

  3. Results

A reduction in muscle activity can be noticed before a visible contour change. Review and maintenance are planned around your response rather than a promised timetable.

Assessment before treatment, with Dr. Alex, DNP

DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Dr. Alex, DNP, asks you to clench and relax while she assesses how the muscles engage. That examination helps separate a concern about muscle bulk from one that may need a different kind of evaluation.

With hospital and private plastic surgery experience alongside her advanced nursing education, she brings a clinical approach to facial treatment. The masseter plan accounts for differences between the two sides, with conservative dosing and a discussion of function as well as appearance.

Naturally refreshed. Prevention-focused.
Effortless beauty.

Questions about the chewing muscle, possible changes and planning a masseter consultation in Midtown.

(646) 347-2833

How much does masseter Botox cost in Manhattan?

Your quote follows the assessment of both sides of the jaw. Treatment is charged per unit, and the amount proposed reflects muscle size and activity. Dr. Alex, DNP, explains the total before any injections are agreed.

Will it slim my jaw, or help with clenching?

Those are two reasons to ask about masseter treatment, but suitability depends on the cause of the concern. Muscle-related width may respond differently from bone structure, and jaw pain is not always a muscle problem. The assessment helps determine the likely benefit and whether other care is needed.

How soon will I see results, and how long do they last?

Changes in clenching may be noticed within roughly two weeks, while a slimmer contour can take several months to develop. The effect is often discussed in a four-to-six-month range, with substantial individual variation. Follow-up timing is based on how you respond.

How many units will I need?

The recommendation comes from examining your jaw, not from a standard facial dose. The two sides may need different amounts. Dr. Alex, DNP, will explain the proposed units and any plan to review the result before considering an adjustment.

Will it change my smile or how I chew?

Chewing can feel weaker, and temporary changes in smile symmetry are possible. These risks are part of the consultation, alongside the intended effect on the masseter. Contact the office if you notice a change after treatment so it can be assessed.

Botox, Dysport or Xeomin — which one will I get?

Product selection is discussed after the jaw assessment. Botox, Dysport and Xeomin are available at this office; let Dr. Alex, DNP, know about previous treatment, including the product used and any effects you experienced.

What should I know before leaving the appointment?

Before leaving, ask about the activities and precautions relevant to your treatment and workday. Tenderness, injection marks or bruising can occur. Keep the office contact details with your written aftercare so you can raise concerns rather than guessing what is expected.
