Treatment areas

Area by area, whole face in mind

Filler restores volume that has faded with time, or adds structure where a feature has always been a little understated. Dr. Alex, DNP, uses hyaluronic acid — a substance your own skin produces — in small, deliberate amounts, area by area, so you look refreshed rather than altered.

Lips

Lip filler

Restores fullness or refines shape in measured steps, keeping the lips in proportion with the rest of the face.

Lip borderDefinition

Defines the edge of the lip and brings back a cupid's bow that has softened, without adding much volume.

Lip linesSmoker's lines

Fine vertical lines above the upper lip, smoothed with a soft filler so lip colour stops bleeding into them.

Middle face

Cheeks

Replacing lost cheek volume lifts the midface and can soften under-eye hollows and smile lines at the same time — which is why Dr. Alex, DNP, often suggests starting here.

Under-eyesTear troughs

The hollow between the lower lid and the cheek that makes you look tired however much you sleep. A careful, conservative treatment — and not everyone is a candidate, which you will be told honestly.

Nasolabial foldsSmile lines

The lines from nose to mouth corners. Sometimes treated directly; often better improved by supporting the cheek above, depending on which looks more natural on you.

Temples

Temple hollowing narrows the upper face and lets the tail of the brow drop. Restoring it subtly brings back a soft curve most people only notice once it returns.

Lower face

Chin

Adds projection or length to a chin that sits back, balancing the profile — a small amount of product for a noticeable difference.

Jawline

Sharpens the angle and edge of the jaw for a more defined profile, and can soften early jowls without surgery.

Marionette lines

Lines running from the corners of the mouth toward the chin that make the mouth look downturned. Lifting and softening them gives a more contented look at rest.

Hands & Sculptra

Hands

Filler on the back of the hands softens visible tendons and veins as volume thins — often the detail that shows age before the face does.

SculptraCollagen stimulator

Technically not a filler: Sculptra encourages your skin to build its own collagen over several months, gradually restoring firmness and volume, with results that can last around two years.

Dissolving

Filler dissolvingHylenex · hyaluronidase

Unhappy with filler from elsewhere — migration, lumps or more fullness than you wanted? Dr. Alex, DNP, starts by reviewing what was done and what bothers you, then uses Hylenex (hyaluronidase) to dissolve unwanted hyaluronic acid filler, tailored to your anatomy.

If you are not sure what your face needs, start with a consultation. It is relaxed, candid and never a sales pitch.

Whole-face planning with Dr. Alex, DNP

DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Before focusing on aesthetic medicine, Dr. Alex, DNP, spent seven years in hospital medicine and two in private plastic surgery. She studied here in Miami for her master's and doctorate at Florida International University, after a BSN from Georgian Court University in New Jersey.

She treats filler as structural work. Before touching any single area she considers the whole face — proportion, how light falls across it, how one region supports the next — and she would rather build over two visits than overfill in one.

Softly restored. Never overdone.
Effortless beauty.

How much does filler cost in Miami, FL?

Filler is priced per syringe. How many you need depends on what your face calls for: a first lip treatment is often one syringe or less, while cheeks, chin and jaw usually need more. Dr. Alex, DNP, gives you the exact cost at the consultation, once she has assessed your whole face and understood your goals.

What are dermal fillers made of?

Hyaluronic acid — a sugar your skin produces naturally to hold water and stay plump. As a filler it becomes a smooth gel that adds volume and support where it is placed, and your body breaks it down gradually over time. Sculptra is different: rather than filling, it stimulates your skin to make more collagen.

How long do fillers last?

It depends on where it goes and which product is used. Lips move constantly, so filler there usually lasts six to twelve months; firmer fillers in the cheeks, chin and jawline can last twelve to eighteen months or more. Results fade gradually rather than all at once.

Will I look overfilled?

Not if it is done well. Dr. Alex, DNP, adds filler in small amounts, keeps every area in proportion with the rest of your face, and would rather see you back for a little more than give you too much in one visit. The goal is a face that looks rested and balanced, not one that looks treated.

Does filler hurt, and will I bruise or swell?

Numbing cream goes on first and most fillers contain lidocaine, so most people feel pressure or a brief pinch. Swelling is normal, particularly in the lips, and usually settles within a few days; bruising can happen with any injection. If you can, avoid alcohol, fish oil, ibuprofen and aspirin for a few days beforehand, and leave at least two weeks before a wedding or photos you care about.

Can filler be dissolved?

Yes — hyaluronic acid filler can be broken down with an enzyme, hyaluronidase, usually within a day or two. It is one of the reasons Dr. Alex, DNP, works with hyaluronic acid. It is rarely needed, but it means no filler decision is permanent, and filler from elsewhere that has moved or looks heavy can be cleared before starting again.

Do you treat under-eyes and temples?

Yes, both, as part of a plan for the whole face. Hollow temples narrow the upper face and pull the brow tail down; restored subtly, they bring back a softer, rested contour. Under-eyes are the most delicate area we treat and candidacy matters: filler helps a true hollow between lid and cheek, not puffiness, heavy bags or very thin skin, and supporting the cheek first often helps the under-eye more than treating it directly. Dr. Alex, DNP, will tell you honestly whether you are a candidate.

How should I prepare, and how long is the visit?

Come with clean skin if you can, and skip alcohol and blood-thinning supplements for a few days beforehand to reduce bruising. Allow about an hour for a first appointment: consultation, numbing, treatment and a few minutes to review the result together. Miami visits are booked in advance, online or by phone, so Dr. Alex, DNP, can give you her full attention.
