How long do fillers last?
Lip filler usually lasts six to twelve months, because lips are always moving. Cheeks, chin and jawline use firmer products that commonly last twelve to eighteen months or longer. The duration and the way volume changes depend on the product, treatment area and individual response.
Will people know I have had filler?
The aim is that nobody can tell. Dr. Alex, DNP, works in small amounts, checks proportion as she goes and would rather add at a second visit than overfill at the first, so your face looks refreshed and balanced.
Does filler hurt, and will I bruise or swell?
Numbing cream and the lidocaine in many fillers can help with comfort, though pressure or pinching is still possible. Swelling and bruising vary by person and treatment area. Share your medications and supplements with Dr. Alex, DNP, before your visit; do not stop prescribed medication without the prescribing clinician's advice.
Can filler be dissolved?
Hyaluronidase can break down hyaluronic acid filler. Dr. Alex, DNP, first assesses the product, its placement and your concerns, then explains whether dissolving is appropriate. More than one session may be needed, and dissolving has its own risks. It does not remove every type of filler.
Do you treat under-eyes and temples?
Yes, within a whole-face plan. Restoring hollow temples softens the upper face and supports the brow. Under-eyes need the most care: filler suits a genuine hollow between lower lid and cheek, not puffiness, bags or very thin skin, and lifting the cheek often helps more than injecting under the eye. Dr. Alex, DNP, will be straightforward about whether you are a candidate.
How should I prepare, and how long is the visit?
Bring your medication and supplement list, details of any previous filler and the concerns you want to discuss. Follow the preparation instructions from the office and arrive with a clean face if possible.
