What Sculptra actually does
With time, the skin makes less collagen: it thins, loosens and loses the quiet structure that keeps the face looking firm. Sculptra® is made of poly-L-lactic acid, a material that prompts your skin to build its own collagen again, rather than simply filling a space.
Because the result comes from your own tissue, it appears slowly and softly over the months that follow, and it can last around two years. There is no single moment when you look “done”, which is exactly why people who choose it tend to love it.

Consultation
Dr. Alex, DNP, reviews your health history and looks at how your face has changed. You hear whether Sculptra® suits you, how many sessions she recommends, and the cost at your office before anything is prepared.

Treatment
The product is reconstituted ahead of time and placed with a fine needle or cannula in small amounts across the planned areas. Most people describe pressure more than pain.

Aftercare
Massage the treated areas as instructed over the following days, and expect some temporary swelling or tenderness; a small bruise is possible.

Results & follow-up
Collagen builds over the weeks and months after each session, and sessions are spaced to let it develop. Dr. Alex, DNP, reviews your progress before each one.

How is Sculptra different from filler?
Hyaluronic acid filler adds volume where it is placed, and you see the change at the appointment. Sculptra® works more slowly: it prompts your skin to build its own collagen, so the result develops over months and looks like firmer, healthier skin rather than added volume.
How many sessions will I need?
Because this is a regenerative process, multiple sessions are always required. The exact number depends on your skin and the degree of change you are hoping for, and Dr. Alex, DNP, will plan it with you at the consultation.
When will I see results?
Some fullness right after treatment is simply swelling and fluid, and it settles within days. The real result builds gradually over the following weeks and months as your own collagen develops.
